Ashley and Philip met each other about 20 years ago in church, but it took them until after college to really fall for each other. These Aggies and their friends really knew how to party! This was one of the first weddings that I worked where both the bride and groom graduated from A&M. They played the Aggie War Hymn and the groom’s cake was in the shape of a barn and “Aggied” out! AND they cut it with a sabre!
With all the rain we had been getting, we were a little concerned with the weather—but we were able to have the ceremony outside without a hitch. The ceremony took place at the Cantina and the reception in the Barn.
Ashley put a lot of thought into the rustic décor and even brought in a stand for her cupcakes made out of old mattress springs! So cool! What was extra special at the end of the night was right before their exit, the bride and groom had a private last dance. It was so sweet to see them take that moment to themselves, especially after the whirlwind of events that comprise a wedding. You could easily see how happy they were singing that song to each other as they danced.
I was happy to have been a part of their special day and wish them the best as they begin their marriage together!
