When Lauren and her mom came to meet us at Moffitt Oaks last January, they had a crazy idea and Mrs. Moffitt had to be part of their sneaky plot. Lauren and Matt planned to have an engagement party in March and their ceremony and reception the following fall. As they started planning their wedding at another location, they quickly became stressed and realized neither had enough free time to devote to the daunting task of planning a wedding. They came to meet Mrs. Moffitt and myself and asked if they can host their “engagement party” at Moffitt Oaks in less than two months time. The invitations went out, and we started planning their party, little did her guest know, that we were actually planning Lauren and Matt’s surprise ceremony and reception at our wedding venues in Houston.
Matt greeted all the guests as they walked into a beautiful cocktail hour prepared by Cafe Natalie. Within thirty minutes of the event, the DJ cut the music off and gave the mic to Matt who explained to the guests that they were not here for Lauren and Matt’s engagement party, but rather their wedding. Everyone quickly made their way to the ceremony location, as I lined up the parents and bridal party. The ceremony went off without a hitch, and the reception was a party to remember a lifetime.
I loved every part of this wedding. From the sneaky plotting to the exciting grand exit, and I was blessed to be the coordinator for this beautiful wedding celebration.
Wishing Lauren and Matt a lifetime of happiness,
Melissa, and the Moffitt Oaks Team
